I wonder who the person in Hollywood is that sits and monitors when celebrities “unfollow” other celebrities on twitter.  That person had a busy weekend as some high-profile celebs “unfollowed” their exes this past weekend.

Shortly after it was announced that Katy Perry and Russell Brand had filed for divorce, Katy unfollowed Russell on Twitter.  However it took a few months for Russell to click the “unfollow” button on his beautiful ex.  Brand has 4.6 million followers on twitter, and after deleting his soon to be ex, he now only follows 77 people.  The divorce will be final in July.

Chris Brown and Rihanna have had a roller-coaster relationship, and after Chris released a freestyle rap last week that many assumed was taking a shot at Rihanna, it didn’t take long for her to make Brown disappear from her timeline.  According to E! News:

Soon after, Brown himself stopped following Rihanna, as well as tweeting out the following regarding the rumors: “Assumptions! I didn’t say any names so if u took offense to it then it’s something you feel guilty about.”

I must admit, I am pretty excited to see how this turns out.  Other than Lady Gaga and maybe Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Rihanna have ruled the charts over the past five years like nobody else.

From Seattle PI:

Katy Perry and Rihanna are in no rush to record a girl power duet – because they want to take their time on the project and release an “iconic” collaboration like “Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves.”

The pop star pals have been open about their desire to tackle the charts together, but the “I Kissed A Girl” hitmaker has high hopes for the track and is keen to emulate the success of the Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin’s 1985 hit.

Speaking on Britain’s Radio 1, she says, “We’ve collaborated on a lot of things, but just not songs yet. It’s one of those things that’s got so much build up that we have to deliver.

“I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song ‘Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves,’ not like (Shakira and Beyonce song) ‘Beautiful Liar.’

“But I definitely want to do something that is so iconic. (Rihanna’s) kind of busy too. We’re both busy but we planted the seed two years ago. How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it’s no good? Sometimes you have to wait for greatness.”

Are you looking forward to hearing the final product??

So one of my favorite awards shows is now less than a month away.  While many wait to see if Adele will perform, other performers are being announced for the show.  Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, and Bruno Mars all have all ready been confirmed.

Now, Rihanna & Coldplay will join in on the fun and MTV has the details:

Rihanna and Coldplay will perform live together for the first time on February 12 when they take the stage at the 54th annual Grammy Awards for the televised debut of their Mylo Xyloto collaboration, “Princess of China.”

Rihanna, nominated for four Grammys this year, broke the news on Twitter, writing, “My friends @ColdPlay and I will be sharing the stage for a performance at this years Annual Grammy Awards!” A short time later she added, “WE reached 2BILLION views on @youtube !!! THANK U!!! I’m in a great mood, and I got some GREAT NEWS!!! PRINCESS OF CHINA #GRAMMYS2012.”

The show, which will be hosted by rapper LL Cool J, will also feature a performance by rock icon Paul McCartney, who will join a lineup that already includes Grammy nominees Foo Fighters, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Marks, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Jason Aldean.

At the time Xyloto was released, Coldplay singer Chris Martin explained that the decision to invite another voice into the studio was made because of the unusual story arc of the band’s Grammy-nominated album.

More Grammy performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.
