Hope you had a great weekend!  I was able to squeeze in some much needed rest & relaxation, and aside from the atrocious weather was able to get some errands taken care of as well.

Hopefully you survived the freezing rain event Friday night without sliding off the road, or even worse slipping and falling on the ice outside.   And only in Indiana can you have severe thunderstorms less than 48 hours after snow & ice.  Crazy.

Here we go with the recap:

We now know the teams heading to Indy for the big game on February 5th.  The New England Patriots (gross) will take on the New York Giants.  As I am sure many of you know, 2001 Terre Haute North graduate Steve Weatherford is the punter for the New York Giants, so he gets to try to get a ring in his home state.  I graduated with Steve, he is truly a great guy and a very hard worker, he totally deserves this.

Here is a video of Steve getting some major props on FOX for handling a bad snap on the game winning field goal (around the :48 second mark) :

Here is a nice writeup on Steve from the New York Post:

Weatherford was so overjoyed that the TV cameras plainly caught him mouthing an obscenity as he celebrated Lawrence Tynes’ 31-yard game winner at soggy Candlestick Park.

“I hope my mom didn’t see that, but I couldn’t control it,” Weatherford said amid the Giants’ locker-room jubilation. “I was just so excited.”

The Giants might not be headed to Indianapolis without Weatherford. Not only did he average a hefty 46.4 yards on 12 punts (part of a 22-punt slugfest between the two teams), but Weatherford also was credited with making the best of a low snap by Zak DeOssie on the winning field goal that appeared to skim the grass.

And Weatherford started the two biggest plays of the night — fumbled punts by 49ers returner Kyle Williams in the fourth quarter and OT — with booming kicks.

Weatherford said he was so locked in on Tynes’ kick he didn’t even remember bailing out DeOssie.

“I blacked out, I was so excited,” Weatherford said. “The only thing I remember is that ball going right through the pipes. I got the snap, got the laces down and he put it right down the middle, and now we’re going to the Super Bowl.”

Divorce for Seal & Heidi Klum

While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,” they announced in a statement to People magazine on Sunday.

The statement continues, “We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.

“We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”

Klum and Seal married in 2005 and have four children: Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2.

That’s it for now!  Enjoy a great Monday!
